Jeff

Jeff Kelley

Jeff has played drums since he was five years old. He has played well over a thousand gigs in his career including his seven years playing as the drummer for the Price of Dope and a national tour with the band Convoy. Jeff currently owns and runs Woodland Studios in San Diego, where pocket records, and his entire focus for the group centers around recording albums and touring moderately. Jeff's biggest influences have been the jazz crusaders, George Benson, and Frank Zappa. He plays regularly on either his 1962 Rogers 'luxor' drum set, or his 1964 camco 'aristocrat' set.

Christian

Christian Schinelli

Christian has been playing the bass since 1990. He graduated from BIT Hollywood in 1992, where he studied jazz primarily with Bob Magnusson. Christian was one of the founding members of The Price Of Dope, where he gained extensive live performance experience and a rapport with other San Diego musicians. Schinelli's main influences include: Chris Stillwell, Paul Jackson, Ron Carter, Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Weather Report, Zappa... Christian currently plays a 1960's Orlando Bass through a 60's Ampeg B15NC.

Andy

AndyHolmes

Andy has been playing guitar for thirteen years and working professionally in the San Diego area for the last seven years. he studied delta blues and jazz guitar for three years with Robin Henkel, and then started gigging at the age of fifteen. Andy's vision of the music that pocket is producing is to further expand on the groove feel and writing styles from the late 60's and early 70's soul jazz groups, and blend this with the simplistic raw sound of a four piece rock band. Andy's influences include: Kenny Burrell, George Benson, Grant Green, Eric Clapton, John Scofield, and Jimi Hendrix. Andy currently uses a Gibson 175 guitar and a 1970 Fender Super Reverb.

Ben

Ben Moore

A San Diego native, Ben Moore grew up playing in north county bars starting at the age of 15. Following his miserable failure out of the music theory program at Mira Costa Community College in 1992, Ben proceeded to a successful career in the music recording industry in San Diego. His father Matthew Moore, was one of Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs and Englishmen, touring organist for teen idol David Cassidy, and an accomplished 1970's songwriter with credits ranging from Kenny Rodgers to Barbara Streisand. Ben has played in wide variety of San Diego groups including Berkley Hart, The Price Of Dope, and with R-n-B rocker Joey Bowen. When he isn't appearing with Pocket, Ben continues to produce and record records in San Diego; where he maintains his strict seclusion from the better parts of our society and culture.
